We all carry our history within us.
Each one of us got this entire legacy locked inside us,
swimming in our veins,
and living in the millions of rooms
in our brains.

We all carry our history with us.
Black Americans…
most of us carrying
a lot of white folks
around with us.
How you gonna say
“Let go of the past,”
when its swimming in our veins,
livin’ in our brains?
It’s like the Motel 6 with Hyatt room rates!
It’s some expensive shit!
And white folk get heavy!
